OptiMax technology starts with the acceleration, top speed, durability and dependability you’ve come to expect from Mariner. At the top of the power range are the 3-litre 200HP and 225HP power packages, combining outstanding performance with best-yet running qualities.
Slim, 60º angle V6 powerheads with large displacement provide this power and performance. The sophisticated engine management system compensates automatically for the slightest change in load, wave action or weather conditions. Then there’s the OptiMax direct injection fuel system, providing the means to burn off the fuel more completely than ever before, resulting in huge economies and clean, smokeless operation that’s misfire-free.

Let The Performance Begin (175, 150, 135)

Mariner OptiMax has set the standards for new-technology, low emissions outboards, providing you with unprecedented power, performance and reliability. You can look forward to peak efficiency at all times, translated into an average 45% saving in petrol, smooth and virtually smoke-free operation, plus dramatic reductions in emissions.

The major difference is the fuel system. A high pressure fuel–air mixture is injected directly into each cylinder and burned up after the exhaust ports have closed. The OptiMax technology eliminates the escape of unburned fuel. The range is completed by 2.5-litre models rated at 175HP, 150HP and 135HP. These are fuel-efficient power sources to give you a whole new sensation on the water.

More Power Less Weight (115, 90, 75)

Mariner’s new-for-2004 OptiMax 115, 90 and 75 weigh significantly less than comparable four-strokes, making them the perfect choice for smaller, faster boats. Yet these three-cylinder 1.5-litre outboards are packed with the same boating benefits as their OptiMax V6 counterparts. Above all, they are impressively strong on performance.

SmartCraft-ready, these extra-value OptiMax direct injection engines are controlled by an exclusive processor that provides a level of management capability to surpass anything else of its kind in boating. As with all OptiMax models, the fuel delivery system promises up to 45% better fuel economy than comparable two-strokes.
